Top of another hillclimb. This one was absolute hell, there was a ****ing boulder sitting in the middle of the thing, with no way around, and no way over :crazy:

They're neither a hindrance or a benefit. They're just there.

It's basically erosion. Most hills on the trails i'm used to riding are muddy as hell, and don't hold up too well to multiple bikes sliding over them.

Also, when it rains, the water will naturally funnel through the lowest point in the hill, which means that even if it starts out as a barely noticeable dip in the hill naturally caused be erosion, years of rain will turn it into a rut.
