TWO pigs' heads have been dumped at the controversial site of a proposed Islamic school in Sydney's southwest.

The pigs' heads, planted on wooden stakes on the Camden site, with the Australian flag draped between them, are believed to be in protest of the Muslim school proposal.

The proposed school, for up to Muslim 1200 students on 15ha and wedged between market gardens and pastures, has been highly controversial.

A public meeting held in Camden earlier this month attracted more than 2000 people opposed to the development. The local council also received several thousand written objections during the planning approval process.

My god, I can't believe Australians would be this Anti-Muslim. There is bound to be some Muslim backlash, you just wait and see.
 
This is stupid as hell. Delibertly offending them. I mean, I'm not kind to any religion, but this is just out of sheer bigotry.
 
I'm opposed to all religious schools, but this is unnecessary offensive.
 
They shouldn't even be allowed to build a Muslim school (or any kind of Religious based school).

Ideally no religious schools should exist. But if Catholic schools can exist, I don't see why Muslim schools must be disallowed.

If the school isn't radical, I support it. Let them do what they want. They put Nazi signs around a nearby new Jewish school. who cares?

Is this a public or private school? If it were public, I'd be protesting too.
 
Well, It seems I had forgotten I poised a question, so Oh well.

Seeing as the cops didn't even bother to show up to investigate, I'd say no one here cares.
 
Well, per definition it's private because it caters to an exclusive group or am I wrong on that one? I just see regular schools as public and... Do the math.

A stupid thing to do for so many reasons. One reason being that it encourages the students to believe the stuff they'll be fed in there - The West is against us, etc.
Faith-based schools... I have indeed come to see that this can be a problem, especially in Islam's case since they've had a bad rep with these "Quran schools". We should get rid Quran schools and Catholic schools - The Quran schools for obvious reasons, and the Catholic ones because... Well, because kid should know the difference between an abortion and the killing of Jews during World War 2.

Do you have any examples of private muslim schools teaching how the west is bad. You said etc, what do you mean by etc?

And what about jewish schools, you don't have a problem with those?
 
Same goes for other religious schools, but in my eyes the Catholic and Islamic ones are especially bad. Anyway, about what they teach - I remember one example in Canada where a student wrote a story about killing Jews. He got an A+ for the story. For all their disgusting crap, the Catholic ones could never compare to the everyday Islamic private school, Saudi-funded or not, in Virginia or in New York, they seem to share a lack of affinity for Jews. That's the obvious one, anyway.
 
Catholic schools not liking Jews? I'm afraid you have it all wrong. In my school, they teach you that Jews, along with all faiths, are equal and should be shown respect. It is the people in the schools who hate Jews.

There is an all too ironic thing with Americans. It's government will help the Jews on a dime(no pun intended), but the majority of its people hate them. This hate goes across all bounds. Both Left and Right, Religious man and secular man, share this hatred. I don't know why, because I do not share this belief with my fellow Americans. Perhaps it's just how they were raised.
 
Single faith schools are a recipe for ignorance. Integration breeds tolerance on all sides. :)

Um, and people aren't entitled to get upset? I mean, with all those anti-dutch cartoon riots and the assasination of Theo Van Gogheleleleleleggglgg, I see this more as receprocity -- and a unique counter-balance.
