note 14 days ago Louis Deverell recived a letter in the mail about him racing, he never replyed:

Its June 7th 2004, 5:40pm Everythings fine, My mate Louis Deverell goes up the driveway to see why the pigs are looking at his car, the police hand over the forms, louis signs a few, cops say, your car is going to be impounded for 28days, louis asks why, the police say he was street racing, the say they have video evidence of this offence commited on Oteha Valley Rd (note this road in albany in auckland is the prime spot for us boy racers, everyone meets up at albany mega centre at 1:30pm every friday, saturday drags there,
i was there in my crappy 1600cc Carby Mazda Famila, Louis has a converted Toyota Starlet to Gt Starlert, his cars fast, note i was racing to and i never got caught, anyways
the police says that louis has to go to court, and be prosecuted, he could have up to $3000 in fines, His car sold, loads of pd, no licenese foe 12 months, or no licesnce for ever if they choose,
(note there of us are proud of what we do, we do not reccomend boy racing, i have $800 in fines to pay and could face losing my motor car)
the police then rang the towie the towing company ALFA TOWING of centra; park drive, henderson.
the guy turned up and was nice to us then ok, he then proceed to attach the vechicle with the T rod thing, he then went in to the towtruck and
made the thing push to get to touch the wheels, only that it touched the $600 dollar bumper and shattered it fromne the force, i asked are you going to pay for it, and the guy says no, im no lialble, i say: you have to pay for it, you broke it, and louis said the samething, the guy got angus and step to me, so i steped to him and he assulted me, shunting me in to ground, he was fat to, he oviously needs the bakery to survive.
we followed him to to towe yard, on the jounery there he spoted us,and tryed to lose us, the bumper had been toltaled by the time it got the the yard, on the way there we saw the rest of the bumper pulsating up and down, when it got there is was in peices, the towie wont pay lous out,
as i see it he broke it, hes pays louis $600 for a new one

-------------==========ALFA TOWING=================------------

-------============YOU OWE LOUS $600 for a NeW Bumper======-----

To be fair, if you break the law you can't complain when something like that happens. If you hadn't raced the bumper would still be ok.

shit, tough luck, charge the guy with assult, sue sue sue

seriously, if that had of been me, i would have gotten my crowbar out of the boot and belted him one. ive got a bit of a bad temper like that. i probably shouldnt carry it as it could get me into alot of trouble.

i was pushed around alot as a kid, now im bigger than most people, i dont take any crap, and alot of anger goes out on them. i never had to use my crowbar, but its there. thats not to say im an angry person. im a nice guy really.

i just dont take shit lightly.

sorry, i ramble

No its out righted bullshit. This is a prime example of why cops have to much times on there hand. Same in America too my friend, they download videos too, and arrest people, so next time you make videos and hand them out, make sure you bleet out the person's pic and license plate number, then they don't got jack shit on you :)

If the police rang the towing company then I recommend, rather than following him, calling them and informing them of what happened. If that doesn't work then I'll see you on Judge Judy :p

Coppers will do jack shit, they wont care about you friends car, hell they'ed probably give it a burn around town in that 28 days.

but deffinetly charge with assult if you can

If i am going to be playing devils advocate...we don't exactly know what happened. If someone stepped up to me and looked like they were going to start something, I'd push them away.

push them as in starting a fight?

Well he said he stepped up to him and then the guy pushed him. If you are a tow truck driver and someone doesnt want you to take their car, you go over to tell them that you have to they of course step up as if to get ready to hit you you either back off or hit them. He had no idea what the car owner would do....so he pushed him away.

id start some shit if he came up and pushed me, but all he'd have to do is say i tried to stop him from taking my car and i started it, i wouldnt have a hope of convincing them otherwise.... but still, theres personal satisfaction

he steped to me i was like 10 meters away and he came up to me, i wasnt trying to stop him taking the car, he was merly telling him he damaged the car, so he has to pay for it,

by the way PEOPLE

THIS I NEW ZEALAND WE ARE TALKING ABOUT NOT USA, I LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND NOT USA

THE NZ POLICE SAW HIM PUSH ME FROM 10 METERS AWAY AND DID NOTHING

Fine ok....Its just healthy to look at the story from someone elses view point. At the moment we just have your biased view of events.

****ers, if you had of hit him back, they would have been ontop of you in a second.

or if there anything like the victorian police, they would have blown your head off.

which is fair enough, but, the towtruck man started it, from what we know.

im gonna leave, this topic angries up the blood.

What could be done different? they took his car because of you and your friends stupidity. Bumpers aren't stock. They are put on, and when they are placed too low they are bound to get broken. The man was doing his job, and as he has no personal interest whatsoever in taking your friends car, I find it hard to believe that he was intentionally trying to start a fight.

Calling the police officers pigs are just extra sad, and I'm grateful that they are there to fine you fellas until you can't afford the gas. I've seen videos of street racing gone bad, and that's really not a pretty sight. My advice to you and your friend is simple: Suck it up boys, if you're going to ignore the law, don't come back whining about how the law ignored you.
Seeing as I'm not very profecient in phrasing english sentences, I'm going to end my post with a quote, which I find suitable in this very situation: What comes around, goes around

Man, that's not good. I hate car damage; one of the big stresses in my life.

'Course, if you're street racing, there's a good chance that you could cause other people pretty serious injury and/or damage to their vehicle/property, so there you go; hopefully a lesson has been learnt.

repeat that as if it came from me too :)

^^Thirded. You break the law like its ok then complain that the law won't back you up???

If you can afford $600 on a bumper* why can't you afford to go to a track, instead of endangering innoccent by-standers???

*Why in gods name would you spend $600 on a lump of plastic??? Why? I seriously want to know.

I agree with the above. You intentionally broke the law and you got caught. Quit complaining about it; it's your own fault.

People do get hit and killed/seriously injured in street races - it is rare but it does happen.

Cruises are fine. Check out each others cars etc, but dragging is illegal for a reason. If you want to drag then go to a legal drag strip.

You can't complain when you get caught doing something illegal then blame the law, It is there for a reason.

Agree with the above posters, tough luck buddy maybe you should try not breaking the law next time.

the bumper is fiberglass not plastic, that fact of the matter is he broke the bumper, and he has to pay,
yeah sure we shouldnt drag, but in Auckland we have no place to race, no drag strip, theres the whenuapai air base, but the governtment wants it for a domestic flights, but we want it to drag race on, so we don't have to use the roads anymore, we could sign a piece of paper saying what ever we do is our own fault, if we kill our selfs, its only our fault,
Helen Clarke (new zealnad prime minister) needs to see our side, we want the whenuapai air base to drag safely, with out harming the people on the roads, there shutting down mere mere drag strip 1 1/2 hours outside Auckland to put a motorway through it, and when thats shut down, there will be real drag cars on the road, faster than the ones that already race, it will become more of a problem in my country New Zealand,
thats why we need the whenuapai air base, i asked the police last night what they think, and the police officer said he agrees that the whenuapai air base should be a drag strip for us young people, and atlest i would be off the roads, away from inocent people, so that they would not be harmed, and all us racers are willing to pay NZ$5 - NZ$10 dollars to get in for each night, friday and saturday, and when public holidays Sundays to, or what ever day the next that is a hoiliday day.

Oh, I'm so sorry, $600 on a lump of fibreglass makes total sense

Tell me something. It is illegal to buy an AK47 in the UK and there are no AK47 shooting clubs. By you logic, it is ok for me to get one illegally and fire it down an empty street? Even though a person could suddenly round a corner without me knowing?

Seriously, you seem to be after sympathy. You will find none here. You engage in illegal activities and brag about them on a board of law abiding citizens. Have you not seen what most people have to say about the code leak last year, and you want us to think its ok to go out and endanger actual people?

Townies, townies everywhere....

ok fine, he could be getoing out of it, now, loop hole in the system we have found on transit.govt.nz, it says if he did not exceed the speed limit on the particular road its no considered drag racing, and they cant prove he did go over 80km

thank you to all the people on the forums for your input, and i will consider when i think of drag racing again to think if its really worth the hassle

You'll consider it when your back end slips out and sends you into an innocent bystander.

That's the only time you people learn why most people don't do it.

i dont street race, for 1 the safty reasons, 2 the legal reasons and 3 my car aint built for it (falcon, big family car)

People like you are the reason some very close people are dead. >/

I'm glad the car got messed up, you guys should be banned for life from driving.
