I've had quite a complex "relationship" with Pink Floyd throughout most of my teens. Most of my friends love them to death, but it's only the early Syd Barrett stuff (ie Piper at the Gates of Dawn) that I can really get into.

What do you think of them?

I can only really enjoy the 'middle' era work, or more, the more well known albums. Basically, when Roger Waters was at his prime. Don't listen to them that much anyone but as a kid/early teens I was quite the fan. Saw Waters live recently, though, playing DSOTM in full. Pretty epic.

Pure Awesome.

I would see them in a reunion tour over Led Zeppelin any day.

Thats my personal opinion.

Like most music, I can only take so much. But with Pink Floyd their classics never seem to get old on the radio for me.

And of course David Gilmour's guitar work is pretty amazing.

Dark Side is the ultimate chill-out album. Animals is good too. That's about the extent of my opinion.

Animals is their best in my opinion, followed by The Wall, then Wish You Were Here. Though I do enjoy DSOTM, and loved seeing it live, I don't think it's all it's cracked up to be. I find it a little trudging in places and I'm not that much of a fan of Gilmours voice. The later tracks with Waters, the second half of the album, I prefer.

Personally, I'd recommended the following purchase order:
1. DSOTM to blow your mind

2. Piper at the Gates of Dawn to make you smile

3. Any of the Wall, Wish you Were Here, or Animals to keep you ticking along just nicely

This. Exactly this.

One of my favorite songs of all time is Comfortably Numb, I admit though I enjoy more of there later stuff.
