I tried out Disney's MMO tonight and I just wanted to share it with the rest of you. It was very simplistic with Sid Meier's "Pirates" graphics, but a decent time-killer. The installer is small, and the game is streamed like Guild Wars. The villain is Jolly Roger, and I'm frankly confused where in the storyline this is supposed to take place. My guess would be between Part 1 and 2. The voice acting is very good for the main characters, better than I expected.
Like Burning Sea, it has both sword and ship combat, both of them more intuitive and easier since they're catering to the younger crowd. Winning at swordfights involves combos, and pistols requires timing your reloads. There is a simple PvP arena. There is no wind direction for ships, and quests are highlighted in-game with a "light from god" shining on where you need to go.
Even though the game is free, the game is played in window mode, and most of the high-end ships and weapons are locked. You also can not play some of the mini-games. The monthly fee is $9.95 a month, with the first month half off. Frankly I'm sticking with it for free.
