Pistol vs Wood problem

I just got the game running from that reboot problem earlier today. I've been very pleased with the game so far, but for some reason my pistol isn't able to break wooden planks. Like the ones that block doorways or that support collapsable structures.

Sure, it isn't a really big deal since I have a crowbar but from a distance I can't enjoy manipulating that kind of stuff. Maybe it is a bug, maybe it is because my settings are on the low end.

If someone knows more about this, or just how to fix it please let me know.

You can.. it just takes heaps of ammo lol, try emptying a few clips (like.. 3 or 4)

Bliink is right, never use the pistol anyway, if you must use a gun use the shotgun... It will pwn the wood quicker than you can say "IwishIwasascoolasDanimalboyishecoolorwhat?"
