Places to store files and have them accessible to anyone

Just what the title says. I've tried Yahoo Groups, but of course you need a Yahoo account to get to the files. Is there any kind of site where you can store files everyone can access with a simple mouse click, without having to join or sign up for anything I mean? Thanks.

I know there are; www.hot.ee (an Estonian site) offers that, only it's in Estonian. There must be dozens of sites that offer such services.

I guess I might need to explain a little further; what I'm looking for is a storage site (like Yahoo briefcases) where I can store files, files which everyone is able download without having to have an account themselves, as is the case at Yahoo. I store a file (doc files in my case), perhaps in briefcases protected by a user/pass system or the like, and others can download. Just like on a server. In fact, just like the screenshots or funny faces everyone's posting in the HL2 section: they store a picture, link to it, and people can download it or view it. I need something that allows you to do the same, or similar, only with other kinds of files as well.
