"As an ode to Plan 9 being famously known as "the worst film of all time," prerelease copies of the colorized DVD release included this limited edition air freshener."

Rofl!!

Holy crap those are awful effects! Anyone could do better with a paper clip and a rubber band. The actors are so bad too.
(With no surprise or hint of fear): Oh my God... That must not be from this world. The delayed screams also contribute to its suckage.
Did they purposely do a bad job? You got to try pretty hard to do that bad.

I already own it. Hilariously awesome, I watch it frequently.

I also own "Ed Wood" with Johnny Depp and Bill Murray. Great movie.

Totally agree. It's absolutely hilarious, and gives us a glimpse of the somewhat tragic, yet brave life of Ed Wood.

Heh. wikipedia.

After extensive critical and commercial failure, he ended his career making pornography and writing schlock transvestite-themed novels drawing from his own fetishes.

Worst part of the movie was the ending, and the montage that is Plan 9. Its way too rushed and unneccesary... its just there to please all the Plan 9 fans. I would've liked it much more if they either integrated it better into the movie, or scrapped it alltogether.

You know he was born and raised in a town right next to me? :)

I thought the ending was amusing personally :D.

And that's neat, any historical traces of him left there?

I loved the ending, the guy goes on a long rant about humanities stupidity and then it devolves into "You're stupid! STUPID, STUPID!' And then he throws a pot over his head in the most girly manner ever during the worst fightscene ever. My dad bought this on dvd but I stole it from him.

Wah! I didn't know all of these films were on Google Video. :O

Put it on your iPod? I didn't know you could download stuff off google video, isn't it streaming only?

Not that I know of, but I may try to find out more, maybe take a picture of his old house or something. He's definately one of my heroes.

Oh, and Not Tool Man, "No. NO LIQUIDS! I am TERRIBLY allergic to them!" ;)

Sainku, the "Solarminite" was probably one of the most hilarious speeches, ever. But we were talking about the ending of Ed Wood, not Plan 9 :P

The movie is that much funnier if you know the background of it. Like how Bela Lugosi is actually dead prior to the "script" even being written, and that his scenes are just stock footage thrown together. I mean, its quite obvious, but still...

i watched a clip of it on Desroy All Humans, and good GOD what the Hell was that... THING that people call a movie?

There are a lot worse films that Plan 9. Gigli and Ocean's Twelve come to mind...

But not in the same way.

In Plan 9 it changes from day to night every other shot, even though it's all supposed to be happening within the same hour. It's ridiculous.

True.

I don't know much about Ed Wood (or have even seen the film about him that was done by Burton) but was he actually serious when making these films? Or was he more or less like what Uwe Boll is today?

He was dead serious, very dedicated to his art. He was a good man, just a terrible film maker.
