Play sounds via mic

Is there a way to play sound such as music or other over your mic while in CS:S with good quality. Is there a command or something that will work?

I used to use Half-Life Sound Selector for all of HL1 games and mods, i don't know if it works for cs:s aswell, but i do know that i wouldn't use it lol, people get extremely annoyed by it.

(Actually, they're is and I'd give you the link, but 99% of the time, it still sounds like shit over the voice chat. The voice chat is outputted in such low quality [to prevent lag] that music sounds like total garbage. Overall, it's an annoyance and isn't needed.)

It's ****ing annoying, And also a good way to get yourself banned from servers, as many have rules about music over the mic. People don't join servers to hear shit-ass music from a mic, they join to play.

No, HLSS (Google it, it'll give you a link if you want to badly enough to flame us) STILL sounds like total shit. Sure, it sounds 1% better but it still sounds like garbage. You can't tell what's being said, all you can hear is static and a "bump" once in awhile if it's a techno song. STFU and GTFO.

Okay, the website is www.hlss.us

They took out the speex codec from the source engine, so this means you have to use the default shitty one. Playing sounds through source sound horrible. But, in the regular hl servers if the admin types sv_voicecodec voice_speex, sv_voicequality 5 in the console then it will sound really great.

Yes. The codec compressing stuff. It happens to everything you play via voip, be it music, voice, or even the freaking chipmunks theme tune, whether its over the mic or hlss.

I have to confess a little confusion though. If "The shit ass music would be when someone puts their mic next to their speaker dumbasses", then why did you say "I have an extremely nice headset so maybe it will sound better". So, you tell us your bedroom wall is painted red, and then call us dumbasses for not knowing it is in fact blue, even though most of us assumed it was blue to start with...

Anyway, heres the deal. You want to do something that irritates people. Go to a music store. See the racks and racks of different music? That is because different people like different music, and as such, there will be some that do not like yours. That and the fact that people who are trying to hear the footsteps of the last terrorist do not need to hear "I've got a brand new combine harvester and I'll give you the key" blasting at them, in low quality. So, please accept that no one here wants you to be able to do this, hence most refuse to tell you.
