Chrome.... ever heard of it?

Nope? Well it's a pretty unknown game, only released a couple of weeks ago. I'd being following it's progress online and when i went into my local game store to get a copy, they had one... wtf? One bloody copy hidden away amoungst other shite. Or maybe it was just so popular? Ehem...

Anyway it's a FPS made by a random polish company. The gameplay is pretty good... kinda tactical... but OH MY GOD!!!! The graphics are stunning!!!! I was expecting it to be okay, but when the first level loaded up my jaw hit the floor. Grass and a forest pretty much explains it... and it's like a proper forest you can walk through and everything... the sunlight comes the through the trees and you have to be careful to not kill your keyboard with the drool running from your open jaw.

It may not be the greatest gameplay in the world... nothing too original. But hell, you've all got £35 spare since you can't get HL2 havn't you? This is this polish companies first game, using there own engine built from scratch (in only two years i should add)... think what they could do with 5 years *cough cough gabe*. They just need out money

Download the demo if you're not convinced. I hear there is one available. This is one gamble buy that i most certainly don't regret

This game came out like 3 months ago in polish only, I really hate this game though.

Shooting people with a pistol shouldnt make them go limp and do a backflip for 1 frame and then fly up in the air and land flat.

yes, the ragdoll isn't the best.

But that game engine (and the gameplay isn't that bad) in only two years????

I think it's a bit of an achievement

I know it's not that great, I just think the engine is very good. Even if the gameplay does lack slightly.

2 years for that is bloody good.

Isn't Chrome the game with over-exaggerated rag-doll effects?
I mean, I swear, I shot this dead body and it goes 4 feet away

It does look like a great game, beautiful graphics and all, but like you said the gameplay is lacking quite a bit (I played the demo) and i'd rather spend my money on max payne 2 or call of duty.

Perhaps the multiplayer is worth it but (correct me if i'm wrong) there is only about 1 or 2 dedicated servers about. Plus I don't think i'd really see a large Online Chrome community doing well here in Australia, let alone even existing!

Rather bad ragdoll effects then guys falling halfway through walls, or laying stiff as a board over a ledge, just because 1 mm if their foot is touching the very tip of the ledge (*cough* Quake 3 engine *cough*)
