I don't really know much about what G4 is but it has been confirmed by Doug Lombardi.

Nice, any reason why these posts keep disappearing?

Hah.

I pmed a couple of people about it, and it seems it was just a result of mis-communication. :)

It's on the 31st, airing on August 6th. Hopefully they'll show a lot of HL2.
I doubt they will show a lot. dont get me wrong but g4techtv only really talks about console games. I hardly seem them talk about pcgames except for screensavors and of course the shows that review games, like xplay and judgement day. And they dont even show that many either. I want more pcgames. hopefully they will show a lot of hl2 clips, or even d3, but wont d3 be out the same day the shows on? or earlier?? OH screw the show, ill tape it and play d3, oh ya! Ill prolly watch it. Ill need to give my eyes a break from all the D3 dynamic lighting goodness. lets hope for hl2 clips, and a lot of them

I hope the new HL2 trailer which valve was planning, is shown, and hopefully looks as cool as the G4 Tech Tv Doom 3 trailer.

/me doesn't get G4TTV

I'm sad. Stupid Comcast.. I used to get G4TV, with my basic plus digital cable package. I did not, however, get TechTV.

After G4 bought out TechTV, I didn't get G4TTV simply because it's Tech TV, and it's a "premium channel."

Don't worry, The Doom 3 trailer surfaced the net just within 10 minutes after the end of the show. Ahhh! the wonders of the interwab.

G4 is the stupidest company ever. I hope they burn to the ground.

Beat you to it! :p

where is my cookie?

Well I dont get any of these fancy channels (only 4 channels here) but the G4 Doom 3 video kicked ass.

Hey dont you have to quote the source? Yes. You do. Ha. But the point stands that G4 should burn to the ground.

The source would cause this thread to lock. The source is some HL2 fansite that has beta info, so we won't talk about it. But I assure you that it seems pretty legit to most of us.

Well that didn't stop Valve from inviting them for a tour. A fun tour. In the closet. With Gabe. Blindfolded.

hl2.net is extremely anal about competing websites.

No, we're just anal about competing websittes that hold stolen leak information.

I'm glad my parents decided to change their cable plan from HBO to a bunch of the odd channels that includes G4/Tech TV :). Hopefully this airs before I head back to college.

G4 (just G4, not Tech TV) and their fans, are the biggest bunch of aholes around, I in the past was a member of their forums, I make a suggestion (polite and nice, unlike I am here) and all I get is flamed out the ass, then all go praise a channel that covers OLD news in gaming, treats it like it's new, and acts like they know S**T about gaming. Don't be suprised if they don't show anything at all interesting, they'll show a clip from some old CS:S vid and be like WOW APPARENTLY THE MP5 WILL BE MAKING A RETURN!!!!!

i think its quite amusing about their leak policies, considering when the leak happened all the moderators claimed it was a fake, and allowed people to discuss it. and when screenshots started popping up they had been "photoshopped" and then more trickled out until the sceptics had to eat their words.

Anyway long story short, this forum used to have the most hl2 beta discussion, now its a bit over the top.

I honestly don't know what the big deal is about censoring leak info and banning sites... Sure, the leak may contain spoilers, which means that people should certainly post carefully, and in the right places, to make sure they don't ruin anything for anyone, but there's nothing gained by censoring discussion about things. If people really want to find leak info, they will anyway, and if people really want to talk about the leak, they can easily do so outside this site. Censoring it here just makes this environment seem needlessly oppressive and over regulated. It's like primary school all over again.

Hey if you don't like our rules, why do you continue to stay and post here?

Lets see, all those whining about our rules have well over a few hundred posts each. Seems you just like whining but not acting on it.

i remember when it first came out they said it was not playable, and contained secret gay porn (i shit you not)

I may not agree with every one of the site's policies, but I still support it and post on it. What's wrong with that? Would you prefer that I did "act on it" and either made some kind of protest, or left?

I generally like this place, and if I happen to have an oppinion on something I'm going to feel free to post it. That's what forums are all about. I would prefer that you don't suggest I leave just because my oppinion differs to yours. No hostility intended, if that's come across.

Well excuse us for adhering to Valve's wishes. We censor discussion about other warez, file sharing programs etc. because they're illegal. Take a guess at what the Half-Life 2 leak is, as well. I'll give you a hint, the word popped up a few sentences ago and has helpfully been put in bold to allow you to find it.

Reaperman, i remember that (there may have been one version that had gayporn, a huge fake. the other was not).
But anyway, you'll see that once the rules clamped down, so did my posting rate. I hardly post at all anymore, but this is all irrelevant to the topic anyway, so i'll stop here.

I think Valve over-reacted about the leak. It seems like id didn't even care about their leak. :| Can we please get back on topic before the mods come to close this thread that had a relevant discussion. :D

id cared about the leak more than they let on, I'd really not go along what you saw on those icon clips ray. They are simply putting on a brave face, the leak caused them a lot of trouble and having invested so much money into it, do you honestly believe yourself when you say they didn't even care about it?

Logic. As Abom pointed out, the leak is illegal, warez is illegal. There's no ifs or buts or any other excuse. It's illegal, and we don't allow it here. Some sites do, some don't.

Ok, ok, no need to get snarky :p It is fair enough that you regulate the spread of illegal information, it's just the amount of moderation I'm in slight disagreement with (and of course, this is just an opinion, something which is bound to differ from person to person). Censoring a link to something illegal is one thing, but censoring something which only contains some information about something illegal is slightly different. It depends to what level you want to take it. For example you could potentially censor out links to planethalflife.com, since they link to the site that you've banned. Anyway, I certainly don't want to get into a big argument with the mods here, so I'll leave it at that. I respect the oppinions of the mods here, and your right to have whatever rules you feel neccissary.

Edit: And yes, I do think I went a bit far in my first post to this thread, I didn't think it through, really. I was a bit grumpy at the time :p

Valve lost valuable programming code, and according to them: "the promise of 30th september" even though the leak wasn't the actual reason for the delay which we later found out.
