player model annimations!?

Hi guys ,
i wonder how many annimation and witch annimation i need to do for a player model in hl2-dm

maybe a walk , jump & crouch annimation,

but is there others

and is there a tutorial or info about that some where

i dont know a lot about this subject but i think you need ones like running forwards,backwards,left,right and running forward+left, forward+right, backward+left, backward+right.
then you need all the different directions of moving while crouched- i think.

but as i say i dont know very much about this and i may be wrong
 
You then need the animations for the model firing each gun whist standing, then whilst crouched.
 
I would also very much like to know this information. Is it possible to easily use the skeleton already in place with the current Half-Life 2 models assuming the animations for those characters are sufficient for my characters? Even if that would work, I'm planning a total conversion mod and I would need to make up all my own animations. This is my first stab at a mod so I'm not really familiar with the way Half-Life 2 works. I'm guessing by the time I have the models finished and skinned someone will have put out a tutorial though. I'd really like to see a tutorial on the whole process of creating a new model for SP or MP Half-Life 2.
 
you dont make youre own, that's difficult. you should use the animations of the dm-models. "...sigh "
 
I believe that you can rig up your character to an already animated biped, either that or you rig your character to the biped and then import the animations onto it, im not sure tho havnt really touched on the subject.
