Players Getting Bounced Around. Annoying?

What should be done about the bouncing around of players?

In the beta, there was never any bouncing, players usually passed through one another (same team). The only time you got pushed is when you would stand in a dispencer or sentry, but even then, it was a very slow push.

Now however, I see players getting sent flying and falling to their deaths because they got to close to another player.

Now, I never stand on catwalks with no rails because of the fear of getting pushed off.
In gravel pit, as medic, my HW pushed me off, killing me when I had UBER.

When I am a pyro, I cant stand in a turret and dispencer area. I get launched off to the side, literally more than 10 feet.

+ it is harder to detect spies.

However, the pushing power goes according to who is moving faster, if a guy that is running hits a guy that is standing still. The runner will bounce. However, heavys and bigger classes, while running, have a much lower bounce chance. So if a heavy runs on to the teleporter as you are moving even a little, you are likely to get bounced off.

I never have a problem with it. Then again, I don't like to be so close to the other players I can smell their assholes. That's just asking to get crit rocketed together.

its mainly a factor on narrow and high things, also getting pushed off stairs by sentries.

I'd rather they turn into stationary objects instead of the bounce effect. So many times I'd be walking and get pushed ten yards backwards because some jerk bumped me.

The bounce is plain retarded. I shouldn't get pushed out of range of a dispenser by the dispenser itself. This was a horrible 'effect' in CSS, for christ's sake just ditch it Valve.

i guess to stop the whole team from melding together, i guess.

It's gotten me killed several times. One of the more notable ones is being pushed into a room filled with my sticky bombs just as I detonate them. I can see why the game mechanic is needed, but it is annoying.

Is this "bouncing around" used in Half Life 2 games? I remember Alyx knocking me off a cliff in Episode One...

its basically the same, except in half life, it makes no difference how fast you are going.
