playin Half Life 2 on a 42 inch HDTV...

Hmmm.. Can't help ya.
But I would like to know if my 90 Ford Ranger will drive as fast as the Corvette I was thinking about buying.

Yes, it would look just about as good on the TV as the monitor as they both use close to the same resolutions. However I think the size more then makes up for the difference. Plus if you are sitting farther back you wont notice any loss of resolution.

What the ****. His tv is completely fine, theres probably a hookup or something need to fix that issue, but buying a 1k+ tv is RIDICULOUS, ****ing RIDICULOUS. I almost despise you as much as the 3.2Ghz/x800 ******.

I'llnever understand why people who have two things ask other people who don't have these things to make a hypothetical comparison.

Are you scared something might explode or what? Just try it out and take screenshots/pics.

Your monitor will look better. Sharper...better colors and what not. TVs and monitors are a lot different. Not to mention the response time on your monitor would be a lot better than that of a TV.

Despite a low amount of clarity loss from the HDTV, it is over twice as large and depending on the distance you sit from it everything on screen will appear twice as large, therefore clearer as more detail will be apparent, especially at long range.

That said just hook the damn things up and figure out which you like better.

well i was just wondering before i do it b/c my tv isnt right by the computer and I didnt want to waste my time if it wasnt worth it.

also, when i recently tried to play Half Life 2, i was getting a semi bad framerate, whereas before when i first got this computer it ran Half Life 2 beautifully...i am far from a computer whiz so i like to ask people who actually know their stuff about this...ive never changed out anything in my compute since i got it custom built by a friend...the video card is a GeFirce6600

The Dell 30inch sucks and Im not saying that because I just bought a 24 inch.

The reviews say its blurry in video and has a slow ms.

So, I say wait for the next generation 30incher like I am.
