I used to travel around locally playing in CS tournies and usually my team would come out on top. Nothing huge or anything, but we'd split 100 bucks or get some nifty video cards or something. Not bad for playing games!

Gaming for a living is a lie, only a small teeny percentage somehow manage to find a company willing to sponsor them and even then they are basically lucky ****s because tourney gaming has to be one of the least followed "sports" ever, hence there is little value in making a big deal out of gaming.

Plus turning gaming into a job is just sadface because in all honesty, gaming should just be for pure fun, the minute the rent counts on you pwning up some other squad every other day or something is the day playing loses its fun and just becomes a chore to be done.

First off refer back to cyber's post above. I don't care about paying rent and I didn't say I planed on playing games to do so..so why are you bringing this up? I just happen to come across it on a site I frequent called gamesradar.com (which is a legit site, thank you very much) and was wondering if others had any experience with this or other tournys.

CS here is $500 usually, meaning the winners get $100 each and then second and third place prizes are something nice too.

No, you suck :frown:. You're right those games look bad, thats why I was using it as an example. My vision for this thread was people posting relevant info about tournys they've found online for CS, dod,..etc. and their stories...it didn't have to be this one. But thanks for ruining it for me. Also you smell funny.

Well, this was when source first came out here, and being in Missouri, people have the mentality of.."BEING A GAMING NERD IS BAAAD!"

I'm sure it's jumped up quite ab it, but my CS skills have faltered quite a bit since I only play once a month or so.
