Playing off line.

Like a lot of people I'm on a dialup also and can't afford to be online all the time. :x I found that I can connect to the Internet to get the game started and then once the first load screen is finished I alt+tab back to windows and disconnect my connection. Then I open up halflife again and play normally.

Still a hassle but beats an expensive phone bill.

Made a mistake.

It's not the first load screen. Alt+Tab after the game load screen is done and the game is up and running.
