Every couple months I keep coming back and binging on Risk. Well it's not technically "Risk". It's a free version called Dominate. I play it over at www.dominategame.com. There are a few variations of rules you can choose. I invite you all to come play sometime.
Once you get into the mindset you can see analogies for the psychology of the gameplay everywhere you have some sort of group conflict. Just be careful not to play it like you're playing with your family. The chat sometimes turns into a flamewar when people get pissed off. Luckily there's no "knock over the board" button.
