i got 145fps in stress test, this is not a bragging post, i really thjink something is wrong with the comptuer,

AMD athlon 64 3500+ Winchestyer
hyperx 2x512 2225 timings
asus x800xtpe pcix
asus sli-delux mobo

can you guys tell me if this fps is correct for this system?

it depends on your display properties, if thats at 480x640, no af or aa and forced to dx7, then.. yes, something is wrong.

What settings and res are you running at?

sounds right to me thats a fast system u got there

with that rig you should be running 1280x1024 8xAF, 2xAA at least

it was 146 fps with 4xaa 8xaf, high settings reflect world

it was 158 fps with 0xaa 0xaf, high settings reflect all.

is this normal?

you haven't given enough information. what resolution are you running, thats the most important piece of info

your video card is hardly sweating, that card is made to run resolutions like 1280x1024, 1600x1200.

That sounds about right.

I have the same chip as you and a x800 xtpe (agp)

It scores around 132 on 1280 with 4*aa and 8*af, everything on high.

u do know it depends on the monitor u have to have resolutions that high

yeah its sad when someone gets a card as good as the xtpe, but has some crappy 17" monitor. waste of $

One question.... why did you buy an SLI motherboard and place an ATI graphics card in it???

Not always. I like to play HL2 at 1024 just to keep a high frame rate. Big action sequences are so much more enjoyable at 60 fps than they are at 40.

I guess it depends what you want - gameplay or nice visuals.

future reasons of course thats what i would do

kinda depends on your monitor. i don't recommend anyone running a resolution that can't be pulled off at 85hz, or else it can give eye strain, which is not good.
