please get rid of the ten-character limit.

i know this probably won't do any good, but i have to say it. it's simply annoying, and it doesn't prevent spam because people find ways to get around it. i'm pretty sure i'm not alone in this request too. thank you.

Why get rid of it? It's easy enough to circumvent, and it's not enforced very much. It's essentially a mesh net to weed out the least bright of the troublemakers, and it serves that purpose fairly well.

so a poster would have to go through the trouble of typing out "10charlimit" in order to get that stupid "k"

10 char limit still has a purpose.. whether u realize it or not is entirely up to u.

I don't think think a respectable member would ever post a message that was less then 10 characters. I can not recall, even once, where I made a post that was less then a decent length line.

you see, by wanting to type "ye" on its own, i have to cleverly conceal the rest of the text (whether it be "10charlimit" or random letters). This is just a waste of time and the final post looks no different. so please, eradicate the pointless 10charlimit !!!

But, sometimes, it's just not worth going through the effort to type in DimGray to get your pointless, one worded post across.

THEREFORE, in those cases, the 10 character limit prevails. It's a deterrent, not a barrier.

heh, I wonder if it would be possible to have grey text not count in the minimum char count. It would of course have to count in the maximum one however or else there would be some serious problems.
