I have a geforce GT 512 mb, on my packard bell 80gb 2.8 ghz ram comp.
when ever i play games like hl 2 it's ok for like 1 minute, then the graphics become distorted and stretchy. I've updated to the most recent driver but still nothing, ran dx diagnostic still nothing. But the game runs smoothly on frame rates. Ive attached some images of the problems.

Whoa, that's so trippy. Is this a recent problem? Maybe you should try a system format. If not, just contact where you bought the pc from and bitch at them.

Format c is for gays. How about installing BETA graphic drivers?

That's not a screenshot of Half-Life. Do you have any Half-Life screenshots?

My first suggestion would have been to update the graphics drivers... but this is something I've never seen before :x

I think i know what the problem might be... is that graphics card you got new? or is this just a new problem? Plus, what kind of geforce is it?
I once had a similar looking problem when i tried overclocking my cpu, it ended up taking power away from my graphics card resulting in such problems ( it looked very similar ) find out what kind of power supply you have ( how many watts ) and how many your graphics card needs.

Yeah.

That kind of problems are associated with overclocking or a lack of power for your card. Make sure that your supply has the necessary watts for your hardware, and if you're overclocking, turn it off and see if that corrects something.

Just curious, but are you serious about having a Packard Bell? I thought that company quit making PC's back in the 90's?

No D:

They're selling the ipower at PCWorld. I saw them a month or two back when looking for monitors. Urgh, it's just ridiculous.

What do you mean? Technically or just ugly? Can you shoot me a link? I'd like to see one. :)

I just have a terrible computer, and everyone knows it...:flame:

The link I posted had an ipower on the top right. It's really fast, but it's stupidly expensive and it just disgusts me. I'm not even sure why. It's created for gamers, but most gamers would probably want to build their own computer, and the idea of a computer manufactured to look "cool" with some minor modding is stupid, because anyone who wanted that would mod their own computer. And anyone who couldn't be bothered but has money like that to throw around just deserves to be metaphorically shot.

Ooops. Sorry Druckles, I didn't see that link you had there. :o

I swear I'm friggin' colorblind sometimes. A bad trait to have in the IT/IS field actually.

Yeah, reminds me of those overpriced VooDoo and Alienware computers. Anyone who would buy such things probably don't really care about games as much as they like to show off how much money they can spend. :P BTW: What's the value of a pound compared to a U.S. dollar? I don't know much about currency conversions.
