I'm using a virus-infested hard drive right now because my other hard drive wont even get to it's windows loading screen.

It said something like the reset button was pressed or power failure. It lets me choose 3 different safe modes, resart my computer with previous settings that worked, and start windows normally, but every one I pick it ends up at a blue screen telling me to uninstall some anti-virus stuff and run CHKDSK /F. I don't know how I am supposed to do that when I can't even get to the desktop..

It said the problem was:

Technical:

*** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001901FF, 0x82378848, 0xc0000102, 0x00000000

Please help me, I have every thing on that hard drive and I do not want to take it in to get formatted.

If the disc won't boot but you need data off of it you need to find another machine that will load windows, put your hard drive in as a secondary, then burn the data off of it before you format. Unfortunaltey if even safe mode won't load there is no way to get the drive working without reinstalling windows.

I agree. Either HDD kicked the bucket or OS gone corrupted, either way find another system, install this HDD as primary slave and retrieve data from it, then install it back into your system and format.

Good Luck.

YES!! I FIXED IT!! I looked in the box my Hard Drive came in, hoping to maybe find something that I could fix it with, and found my Windows XP disk (I didn't even know I had one, I thought the makers of my computer still had it or something) so I was about to format it (in the list of options available it was the only one that would help any) I was really pissed, but then I remembered the error saying to run "CHKDSK" and then I saw CHKDSK in the list of options, I ran it, and now it's as good as new, I'm posting from the Hard Drive right now! whew.. that scared me.. Thanks for the input, though, guys.

you could always ghostcast, much better way of transferring data
