PLEASE HELP ME: Steam Backup Error

I've tried to backup my steam games 4 times, and every time the backup temporary files reaches a size around 4.373.702 KB it displays the next error (see below).


I don't know what it is, what is causing it nor what to do to solve it. Can someone PLEASE help me!

Not sure we can help you ... check that none of the files are read only, you have enough space, and nothing is being updated.
Then email VALVe.

I'm having the same problem. I set it to DVD mode and include almost everything (except ricochet) but it fails with only 4 minutes left.

I also wish they would have included a DL-DVD disc option (8.5 GB chunks).

Looks like i'll be RARing up these files tonight...

Or perhaps just let one choose the size of the file...

VALVe, what can we do to solve this problem??

I am still having the problem and would greatly appreciate any help.

I think you can just manually copy the files, just as you would any other large files, and you don't need Steam to do it for you.

The guide itself is only for HL2 and CS:S but you obviously just copy the other files for the other games. I'd just copy the whole lot of games in SteamApps folder personally.
