Hi all, I just bought Half Life holiday 2006 edition and installed it... Then, when I boot up Half Life: source and the screen with 'loading' has passed I get this screen with an image (some sort of reactor thing, i don't know) and the game doesn't move anymore, I waited for like, 20 minutes, can someone help me on this?

Normally that would be a menu screen like this

I'm not sure what you can do about it though - you can't even get into the console 'cus you can't activate it.

I would suggest looking at http://support.steampowered.com for help and then try contacting valve (same page) if you can't find anything.

Have you tried any other games from the pack?

Excellent purchase BTW, issues not-with-standing, it's very good value - have you played Half-Life before?

Click on "New Game"?

Believe it or not, I have heard of people not seeing the menu text, and just sitting, waiting....

It happened to me sometimes that my firewall (or Windows Firewall) blocked my mouse (don't ask me why :|). So make sure you allow HL:S to connect to the internet in your firewall permissions.

Yeah I see a screen like the title screen, only it's blurry and there is no text on it, so I don't know what to do.

Before you start the game, open up a folder. Doesn't matter which one. Then, fire the game up. Press ALT + TAB (it might take a while to go back to desktop) and check if there is a firewall notification.

No "Loading"? No moving of the map? (Almost all HL2 menu background maps move or have moving elements in them).
