now i have a steam account and it runs pretty good
i'm a nvidia customer and i'm trying to get hl2dm with other games trough the offer
any way
evry thing goes well
but after that when it's preparing to install it stays too long
from the first 2 minuts the loading bar is complited
now i have 5 hours waiting and nothing happend
any advise or information will be helphul

i'm trying to get half-life 2 death match only
and there is (creating local game cache files ...)
intel now i'm waiting
 
how much time should i wait to complite it
i'll just wait more 5 hours and if there is nothing i'm going to kill valve and steam members

Well it seems Steam isn't actually connecting to the online servers to download the game. The likely problem is a firewall blocking the ports Steam needs. Have you checked any firewalls you may be using or anti-virus? You must let Steam through.

If it works, it will start downloading in 30 seconds, you don't need to wait 5 hours. You can check the percentage complete and the speed it downloads on your 'My Games' list.

At that point, Steam is creating directories for your HL2DM files to be downloaded to, so it's all Steam compatible. I'm not sure why you can't click next, it's usually a very quick process.

You can try deleting the "ClientRegistry.blob" file found here: C:/Program Files/Steam/

When Steam restarts it should replace the file. If that doesn't work many people recommend installing Steam & the game onto a different PC or laptop, then coping the files over to your gaming PC. If you have the facility to do that, I can tell you which files you will need to copy (after you have downloaded them).

but the only thing is it says that (error steam servers are too busy) or something like that
i don't know when do i delete the client registry file?
when steam is open or when steam is closed
cause if i delete it when steam is close and open steam again it will ask for new update and stay 2 hours
and when i delete client registry when i'm runing steam and trying to install the game (preparing for install etc ...)

the only thing i don't undrestand is why when i try to install portal or hl2 loast coast it tell me directly (steam servers are busy) and the preparing is about 1 or 2 seconds
but when i try to install hl2 dm it tells me copying black mshiash files or something like that and steam freezes after that i close steam with alt+f4
i'm so sad :(

Do you have rights to create folders and add files? Are you logged in as Administrator or a user? If as a user have the admin grant you rights to the folder you are using C:\Program Files\Steam or C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam

To work steam needs to add files to the folder C:\Program Files\Steam. If you are logged in as a user (someone that is not administrator) you may not be allowed to add files there. Windows controls who can add files to the folder. If you can, log in as Administrator and try it. If you cannot login as administrator you will have to ask someone who can to allow you to use that folder.

i've just bought the 3 dvds from a store
and i can only play half-life 2 single player with episode 1 and episode 2
and more then that they have many negative things and bugs
like this
when you play in half-life 2 episode 2 the player keeps jumping or something when you move
or when you crouch it did this evry time so i can't complite the (under radar) level
and more then that i can't play team fortress 2 on steam it says (steam validation rejected)?

In some countries it's hard to distinguish bootleg stuff from legit, not everywhere's a Walmartopian paradise. Maybe give the guy a break.
