Before posting anything please bare in mind the question may very well have been asked before and answered. The official Steam site has a very expansive support section answering nearly every question there is. So make sure you visit:

Failing that feel free to search for the answer on our forums or create a new thread with as much information as you can in detail so we can better understand the problem and find a suitable solution. Remember to include hardware information.
Half-Life 2 Walkthrough/Guide Help
If you're stuck in the game just post the level you?re stuck in and try to explain in detail as best you can where you are and what you?re having trouble with. If possible try to get some screenshots of the location and attach them to your post.
