Pls Help !

hi i have a problem with my pc. sometimes when i want to play cs 1.6 or wc3 my pc lags every 4-5 sec for 1 second ( like i would have a fps drop to 0 but very short) . but then i when turn it of and turn power off and boot again, mostly all the games run smothe again. this happens very often and i wondered what could be responsable for that lag thing ?

its also when i run the games directly after reboot when no other programs are working in the back.

i dont scanned for virusses and stuff but i dont think its a windows or software problem, cause sometimes the games and everything work correct and sometimes i have the problem discribed at the top

my specs are: athlon 1800 xp, 512-ddr-ram, geforce 4-ti-4600
mainboard: msi k7t266 pro 2

I almost have the same system as you. It happened to me once right after I had overclocked my 3d card. I reseted the clock speeds and removed/reinstalled the latest drivers to be sure. A reboot and everything is working fine again

but the probelm is : is never overclocked the cpu or gpu.
the cpu is wokring at satble 45-50 degrees

... It's foolish to assume it's not a software problem. If you're going for hardware problems, though, I'd check the RAM. Usually what cranks PCs up if they're not overheating.
