so whatta ya think? Its for english class:
The Plight of the Spork
The Spork.
It’s got no identity,
Half spoon, half fork:
A bicultural utensil
Spawned by a commercial world,
By a people to cheap to pay
For two different tools
To shovel food into their gaping mouths.
Chicken, Corn, Steaming mashed potatoes.
One utensil does it all,
Except soup.
Which drips from between
the prongs cut from the body
otherwise spoon.
The graceful, rounded curves
Are mangled by the slits through its belly.
The dignified tines of a fork,
Bloated by the spoon’s bowl;
A mismatched Frankenstein that never should have been.
Part spoon, part fork.
It’s got no identity, no history of past.
It’s like Greed incarnated.
Too lazy to use,
Too cheap to buy,
A fork and a spoon which do the job better.
It’s neither a mangled spoon,
Or a bloated fork.
Its got no identity.
Its simply a spork.
