Poison in some of UK food. watch out!

I very nearly ate a Waitrose Hong Kong Beef recently. Glad I didn't now.

It's not poison, and the risk of getting cancer from drinking a whole bottle of this stuff is less than having one solitary cigarette.

The only reason the food industry is making a big deal about this is that they have no choice but to take this stuff off the shelves. It's still very safe to eat, though.

I thought all British food was poison.

HAHAahaahhaah.......uh.......oh.......sorry.

i bet youre just saying that cos you have just eaten 100 Morrisons Chinese Chicken Wings.

No.....it's because the joke (at least in America) is that all British food is really really bad.

(Sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Same to you! ;)

Don't even get me started on Hershey bars..ugh! :p ;)

Look, I am a rustlers addict ... if my stomach can handle that, im sure it wouldnt have a problem with the worlds strongest rat poison. :D

I don't think i've eaten any of that crap though, although the list is long. I'm not bothered anyway, theres no risk.

People are getting Way way over the top with this

Something I wrote elsewhere pretty much sums up the hysteria

Ok so the UK is currently panicing and shitting its collective pants over this food coloring scare, and lots of people are running back to the supermarkets to get money back returning the foodstuffs with the cancer making coloring in. And all the parents are whining and moaning. But here's the really funny part.. These parents are stood there WITH A CIGARETTE IN THEIR HANDS! lmao! I couldn't help but laugh, example.. here's this woman with corn-beef legs, typical Chav dress sense, smoking a cig infront of her 27 kids on the local news, actually complaining about being given food that "might" cause cancer for her and her kids, clearly oblivious to the fact her smoking WILL cause cancer and effect her kids, lol Funny shit haha.

People should be more worried about the things they don't know are in the food. How can you be sure that meat in the TV dinner you had last night, really was chicken?

I have to agree with the comment on Hersheys. Everytime you chew it, the taste in your mouth gets tenfold worse. Then lingers for an hour.

Oh, and that's nothing. I'm too lazy to find the article right now, but our water (British, that is) has a mild anti-depressant in it.

this freaked me out when i read it earlier...was in a newspaper here in ireland sayin bout fast food. I had been out the night before, so plenty of fast food -> then i read this!!!! Shock, horror...oh well..

Coming from the U.S.A. which gave birth to McDonalds and the highest proportion of dangerously obese people on the planet?

And everyone knows the McDonalds employees "spread their seed" in the mayo!

It may taste good, but it doesn't mean it's good food! (btw, I agree with you, British food is pretty crappy, I can't stand stuff like Steak and Kidney pie, yukk)

Our family hardly ever buys and "prepared food", we mostly cook ourselves from raw ingredients, fruit, fish, potatoes, stuff from the garden, very occasional something if i cant be assed to cook.

I've never eaten this prepared crap....tastes like crap as well, most people dont realise how good "real" food tastes.

saw that last night at 3am, too tired to even bother changing it.
But how did you see it at 3am when you posted it at five past? ;)

naa but seriously, not ALL UK prepackaged food is so bad, there's some really nice good out there. I often get frozen fish, no bones in it, tastes great with chips or rice.. Rice too, tons of choice lots of nice meals from that. Fresh bread, can't go wrong there. Yeah there is a lot of crap (pot noodles) but there is some good stuff too. Fresh veg is ok, I couldn't eat it every single day though.

I went to tesco's yesterday and bought a bag of frozen onion rings, chips and a large bag of sausages... for £3.04. fecking bargain :p
i dont like ready-meals all that much, and they are really expensive for food that isnt all that nutricious.

I much rather cook plain ol' frozen chips and veg and have allot of tomato sauce... I do worry about that dye's are in Indian takeaway's though, they do come in very odd colours and i think this dye problem affects that industry too.

nono, Birdseye Chicken/Beef Currys are the nicest packages foods.

or spaghetti bol. heinz.
