**** YEAH.

DS remakes of these bad boys is gonna be awesome.

We need another pokemon thread? Because they're that gorram riveting!

Well...as long as it's not past the Jouto 'mons, sounds good. Might convince me to get my own freakin DS. (Tipping point, I've been thinking about the DS for a while now).

Hope it has a story.

._.

Everyone else seems to like them.

...

I told myself Platinum was going to be the very last pokemon game I ever bought. MUST... RESIST.

Silver and Gold were the ****ING BOMB

Aren't all pokemon games essentially remakes of red and blue?

Pokemon Heart and Soul?

Sounds... lame.

They need things like Pokemon Lung and Kidney.

By that reckoning, aren't all sequels just remakes of the original game?

The Pokemon games use the same gameplay to tell different stories and each new iteration features more things to do and new locations. The same could be said of the Call of Duty series or Command and Conquer or Final Fantasy.

Uhhhhh.

Sequels have to have different gameplay...?

What are you smoking?

Pokemon sequels usually add some small elements of new gameplay anyway.

If they changed the fundamentals of Pokemon I'd probably start a riot and KILL a few people. I need the compulsive routine of running around and enslaving monsters and battling bi-polar school boy/girls. Thread is now about what you usually name your rival, I'll start: ****face was my last one.

Yup, if they have the same gameplay they're basically standalone expansions by another name.
I'm not saying this fault is unique to pokemon, there are a bunch of games in different genres guilty of it.

I played the original Blue/Red games and enjoyed them a lot. But everything since just looks like a Pokemon roster update to me. Am I missing out?

So, Halo 2 and 3, those are just expansions? Not sequels?

'Kay buddy.

I haven't played them, but assuming the gameplay is almost identical, yeah, essentially.

Sorry but your definition of 'sequel' is completely stupid and you have a smelly face.

You're given a choice of 3 pokemon by an old professor, then go around the land fighting gym bosses.

Well your mum said she likes it.

Though she might have just been flattering me to get me back into bed.

well this is actually pretty good, since the original gold and silver, some of them don't even play anymore.
The battery for the internal clock inside the gameboy cartridge went dead on my cousin's game and she couldn't save anymore.

You don't even know how much I want this.

I want this so badly.

I will have sex with it.

That's haato gourudo and souru shirubaa, god damn long vowels are hammered in speech by my teacher. And she'll tell you when you just said something else, shit makes a difference.

That's what I said, man. Just pretend there are dashes above the O's in gold and soul.

O.M.F.G.
I thought I would never see a remake of these games! I still haven't got Diamond/Pearl/Platinum but still, I WILL get these!

Looks interesting. I have always been a great fan of the pokemon games(R/B/Y, S/G and R/S) but after that it got worse and worse. I didn't enjoy the current DS games at all.

Hopefully this will be a bit more oldschool, and give me another oppertunity to fill 100s of hours playing it :D

first: pokemon rocks. but i havent owned a game since pokemon yellow.

so, the question: should i purchase a DS just to play pokemon?
and which is the best game in recent years?

I myself will probably also get Zelda games, bum The World Ends with You from my brother if he doesn't like it, and some other stuff once I look more into it.

My current rival in Platinum is Broseph.
Silver was the best Pokémon game ever!

Judging by the standards of when they were created, I'm inclined to agree.
