Now if you would have told me Pokemon released a new game, an entirely new series-in an entirely new region -with entirely new pokemon, I would have said Who Cares, But this isn't a new game, this is the sequels to their Ruby and Sapphire. This really has a lot of meaning to me, because these were the ones I grew up with.

So I'm pretty stoked about these new ones coming out. Unfortunately, While i did play a lot of ruby and some of sapphire, Emerald was my game.
But i have such a love for the Pokemon R/S/E series, That i named my intense deep blue colored car: "Sapphire", but you can call her "Saffy".

But now i have to buy a 3DS. thats kind of a bummer.

Anyone else excited about these games?

I'm pretty excited about the remakes, I honestly wasn't expecting to ever see them after Gen V came and went without a word about Gen III remakes.

Yeah. I understand what you mean. But I'm kind of scared. All the info consistently quotes: "fresh NEW adventure" and "explore a dramatic NEW world" and that really gets me worried. How much have they changed....... Is this truly 100 % new world, and 100% percent new adventure(story?) ....I....I like the old world...and the old story :( but maybe it's only slightly changed and changed, not because it was bad, but they could do even better. Maybe it will be better like....like.... Black mesa's changes over Half-Life. If That was the case, I would look forward in excitement. Hmmmm they did a pretty good job with Firered and Leafgreen if I remember correctly.

They used exactly the same marketing terminology for HeartGold and SoulSilver, and pretty much every other Pokemon game released in the past 5-6 years. It'll be the same game but with all of the improvements Emerald introduced and in full Gen VI 3D.

I imagine it'll also have additional areas (like the Johto Safari Zone and the Sevii Isles - to catch newer Pokemon without impacting the progression/balance) and improvements to balance (higher/lower levels to add/remove challenge) and the endgame (probably some more rematches, some extra locations to visit, and more, newer legendaries to catch, rather than JUST beating Steven Stone like the endgame in Emerald).

Ok good. That's a relief. It's so happening :)
