I thought this might be a fun idea, so here goes.

Ok, so you get whatever pokemon game you want (one of the isometric ones like red/yellow/blue/gold/silver/platinum/whateverothercoloursthey'vegotnow) and start a new game. That's it.

Then we post like little kids in here about who is doing the best so far. Post who you picked, new ones you've captured, etc, etc.

I never got into any other generation of pokemon other then the first (red/blue/green/yellow) so I think I'll go for Generation 3 - Ruby (I always played Red, so Ruby is my way to go). I know none of these pokemon, or the games, so it should be new to me.

Now you guys!

Let's do dis!

I said start a new game.

And I don't know what that is.

And so far the music at the start of Ruby sucks balls compared to r/g/b/y versions.

So guyz I choosed mudkipz. Level 10 so far :D

I don't have any pokemon games :(
My DS broke and I lost my GBA.

PROTIP: Don't use an emulator.

Funny coincidence, I just acquired and started a game of Platinum last night. So far I think I'm level 8 or something, I chose the fire monkey pokemon thing (there are WAY too many to keep track of anymore). I also have a game of Yellow I was playing a few months ago, I think I'm somewhere between the 3rd and 4th gyms on that one.

Oh man, I just found my Gameboy colour and low behold, Pokemon Blue was with it. I'm so up for this when I get some batteries.

I'ma take this shit on the train to college with me and all. This is gonna be sweet.

Oh man. Back when I was a kid and pokemon first came out in the states... I didn't like it. I thought it was a kids show. My younger cousins watched it and enjoyed it before school. I would sometimes sit there and watch it with them before going to school. Never liked it though.

But, the funny part, is at that same time I sometimes wrote pokemon fan fiction erotica for myself. lawl.

So, I'm either going to get answers here or bump the platinum thread, but is there any particular strategy for the 5-maid knockout challenge other than sheer dumb luck?

Also, the collectors mansion theme for Platinum is pretty friggin sweet. Don't know many others 'cause I usually play with the volume off.

There is one, they are still making it (It's in playable beta).. I made a thread on it a while back but there more from before that. Use the search feature!

I loved Pokemon back when Red/Blue were new... and I played Silver and thought it was okay but haven't touched a Pokemon game since. I don't think I'd like it these days really...

I do wish Nintendo would get over their dumb**** notion that actual Pokemon games should only be on portable systems, though.

If you are like me and loved Reb/Blue, but wished for somewhat of an upgrade I strongly recommend picking up Fire Red or Leaf Green. All the goodness of the original without and new Pokemon, yet it keeps some of the new graphics, music and other features.

The old graphics and sound are way more nostalgic I guess though.. I actually enjoy them more.

Err. Why?

Also lvl 20 something Grotle

Speedup feature is cheating.

But really, if you couldn't tell Ennui was being sarcastic, you're a little slow. He even used italics to make it incredibly obvious.

I'll restart Diamond. I only had two badges anyway.

Edit: I tried that Pokémon MMO but I couldn't get it to work.

posting to say my charchimp or whatever is level 12 now and I am officially NOT using the speed-up feature to cheat and train really fast UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE WHO PROBABLY ARE

Heh. Heh.

Yeah, it's pretty lol sometimes. The female pokemon massage therapist is a bit over the top, even for Nintendo.

Does anyone have any idea what to do in the Battle Zone after the Elite 4 at all? Or, alternately, any tips for catching pokemon in the safari?
