Why oh why must you make pointless threads?!? This has been discussed and discussed ... not even gonna vote, this is so silly. Maybe I'm just being overly negative, but just ... why?

I reckon it'll be free...

I hope so anyway!

I think they will sell it seperately (I mean they sold CS:CZ seperately) but I wont buy it if it is.
I dont see the logic in paying for something I already will own
HL2
Hl1
CS
why pay for CS, ported to Source? I would rather do it my damn self.

Valve could earn some big money on selling it seperately.

I would do.

In one way i hope that they will sell the it seperately.

Because I think we will get a very decent single player part against very good A.I bots. And if they have taken A.I from HL2, that would be awsome!

Hmm, looks like most of you think they will charge us extra for it.

they better not charge more for cs:s...i want to get it with hl2

i think i'll wait a bit before getting it because there shall be brand new free mods coming out so it'll be worth playing those first.

I think they will sell it seperatly, because many HL2 lovers dont care about CS at all. And they could earn more money that way.

I think they will sell it separatly, but also that every HL2 owner will have the chance to just d/l it for free, just like with the originals now.

So you hope it'll be free and retail?

If someone dont want HL2, I think they should buy the game as a retail version in the store for a cheap price.

And I also think that HL2 owner could download it as a free mod because they already bought HL2.

Has anyone asked Valve what they want to do with CS:Source?

Jupp, yesterday i sent them a e-mail.

These were my questions:

- Are you going to sell CS:Source seperatly from HL2?

And:

- Will there be any bot support for CS:Source, and how is the AI like?

But there would be great if someone here could ask them the same questions so they know that we care.

I hope it comes with HL2, but I realize they could make a ton of money selling it separate. :-/ And we'd pay too.

Ok, Valve game me a answer to these question:

- Will you sell CS Source sepperatly from HL2 ?

And:

- Will there be any support for bots

Valve did reply my e-mail today:

We haven't announced a final plan for how HL2 and Source engine
multiplayer will be sold. Look for more info in the near future.

Yahn

I think they better hurry up :)

What do you guys think?

I've never known valve to give their fans a break, so I say they wouldn't ship Counter-Strike Source with HL2 even if only one person bought it.

HOWEVER!!!!
I do believe that they MIGHT ship it with the collectors edition of HL2.

In fact.....it makes perfect sence that they would do that

Maybe they will release it free via steam as a promotion.
It better not be retail.

I sent the same email but haven't got a reply, doesn't really matter now seeing as you got a reply, anyway I will post it if I get a reply, might as well!

It will not be free. Are you serious? No way. EVERY PENNY I TELL YOU, THEY WANT EVERY PENNY!!!

I think it'll be sold seperately if it isn't what HL2's multiplayer will be.

Well, I'm sure HL2 will at minimum have a basic multiplayer mode included, similar to HL1's. I feel pretty confident they will have some other type(s)/mode(s) included as well, but whether that includes CS:S/TF2/DoD2 (TFC:S/DoD:S?) nobody can tell.
