Poll, does HL2 work for you?

Just want to get some real numbers, some people are saying 60-80% don't have it working.

Worked for me first try.

Yes BUT massive stuttering (1 frame every 2/3 seconds) when some sounds are played, this lasts for a few seconds then back to smooth. Other than that its running fine.

You'll find the poll a bit biased for the first day or so, if its working the majority are playing, not here.

Not yet, but I am hoping (and working on it, for going on 3.5 hours). I have the "referenced memory" error, and it MAY be related to an incomplete DL of HL:S (or CS:S). I am finishing the DL of HL:S, and hopefully this fixes me -- 40 min left ;(

I didn't have a problem. HL:S stopped d/l when I started up HL2 like it should. I closed HL2 (I know, I'm a bastard, but I gotta sleep before work) and it started back up.

I've just got done playing for the last four hours! :thumbs:

I too have a stutter problem for 2-3 seconds after each sections loads.

I'm running a 3.4 P4 Chip with 2gb DDR400 & X800XT. Maybe it's just the game but everything else is just sweet!

Doom 3? Yeah, wotever.

i had some major problems with fps rates. i updated my driver and changed my settings and then the menu text dissapeared. After two hours of tweaking i finally got it to work at 1024x768 but with all graphical options turned to their lowest, and with occasional jerks and such. but hey i got it to work at least.

P4 2 ghz
512 mb ddrram
Nvidia GForce 4200 Go (crappy laptop video card, this caused the problems)

Dont work for me it jsut goes to valve menu then the copy right menu the next screen loos like something about to load and it goes instantly black . This game has the worst ever install ive ever seen and i do think it was a rush job why womany cant play.

anyoen maybe knwo the code i have to add the the start up line to get int in window mode ? plz help.
