Porblem help plz=/

i just got HL2 and installed it but when entering but cd key it says i havnt installed hl2 i have retail.

is this because of so many people trying to acces steam or have i got a problem ><

i've never heard of this porblem before. have you tried reinstalling it?

I had the same problem ,because I installed it on D:,but then I copied my steam folder to C: and it worked. < - try this out

i might try that as i moved all my steam to a diff hard drive as i had no space so that may be the answer ill try.

It might help if you actually make a note of the EXACT error message too

btw is the bit when it says decrypting files usually take a long time?

Depends on PC.

Took me about 10 minutes, but im on a fast PC so best just to chill and visit some other sites.

It will also seem to get 2"stuck" on some parts just let it go.
