Portal 2 Puzzle Creator in Internal Beta + Steam Workshop Support

Late last year Valve provided an early peak at the Portal 2 Puzzle Creator, a far more user friendly mapping tool than the SDK Hammer editor. PC Gamer speaking with Erik Johnson at GDC said “I believe they’re beta testing it right now, when the puzzle maker comes out, you will have a lot of content, that’s for sure.”

Also present was Chet Faliszek who confirmed the new Steam Workshop tool (launched with Skyrim) will be employed to distribute Portal 2 mods and soon move over to other Valve titles.

“You’ll see the Steam Workshop coming from there, then to Left 4 Dead and then we’re going to keep using it. It’s not just for the modders, it’s for the players. It’s a super easy way to consume the creations of other people that are just really hard to do otherwise.”
