Portal gun in Half-Life, moddable?

I'm clearly not the only one that wants to play around with the portal gun in Half-Life 2 and the Episodes.

Is there any mod in developement for making this possible?

Don't know if it would work in Half-life 2 or a non-Portal game. From the commentaries, it seems like they had to do work a lot on the engine to make it do this.

Garry has said you wont beable to use the Portal gun. because 1. He doesn't have the Portal Source code, only the engine code and 2. It would be really buggy.
