Why do they do these previews knowing the game isn't coming out for another 5 months? It's just stupid to preview something when there's so much time to go and so much room for changes, imo.

Why post news here about it when all of that is subject to change?

I think anyone with common sense will know a preview is simply that, a before the show look at what might be coming. They do it as even if it's 6 months off it gives a good indication of what the game will be like and secondly for Valves interest its an excellent way to promote and raise awareness of the title. it's not like they wont be reviewing it on release too but buyers want to know what to expect so they can decide whether to buy day 1 or wait 3 weeks until after the reviews are in.

Modders? Gamers? People who make the mods, people who play the mods, yes, but the mods themselves?

That reminds me. CS:S, Portal and TF2 are all considered seperate games, not mods. Yes?
