well everyone is posting some of their artwork, so i thought i'd post my little practice online portfolio... the resolution of the work is really low, for file size, and for continuity on the webpage... if anyone wants hi res versions, to critique me better, please ask.

i didn't add a splash page, so if you get a black screen, it's loading, so you have to wait a little while. the drawings are all with pen or pencil on paper. the paintings are acrylic on canvas. both the drawings and the paintings were done a long time ago(early highschool... 6-7 years ago...) the computer work is newer.

please critique! every comment helps me grow, thanks :)

edit: the nose and lips drawing is black and white oil pastel. oops hehe

i love these paintings!!!! the layout is nice too, but i wish the pics were bigger

also, any comments on the actual flash site dealie would be helpful also. i did this portfolio thing for a final project last semester but i'd like to update it, at least double the content on there, etc. and yeah, i optimized the webpage for 1024x768 resolution, i might make a version that is better for higher res and if i end up not being too lazy to do this, i'll make the pictures bigger... i find it irritating how small they are... such little detail :|

Some things I would personally change in the Flash if it was mine, feel free to ignore it ;):
- I would center it in the html for better compatibility with higher resolutions.

- I'd move the About and the Back button to a more prominent location instead to make them part of the navigation instead of an afterthought. I would also keep the image buttons at the top visible and clickable at all times, perhaps fade them slightly when one of the others is clicked. That way people can switch between sections more easily.

- I would speed up the moving line animation on the top buttons, in fact you might just want to increase the whole framerate setting of the entire flash. That'd make the zooming effect on the pictures smoother as well.

- I would also make the pictures stay even though the user has moved his mouse off the thumbnail. This would be more intuitive and allows for a zoom option when the user clicks the larger pic. When the user moves the cursor over one of the other thumbs, I'd fade the current pic while the next one 'moves in' like they do now. A small mouseover effect on the thumbs would also be nice.

As I said, this is just what I would change. That said, I like the drawings, even at the low res.

I like the first two paintings, have a mysterious quality to them

I like the layout of your site two, again same kind of feeling as the paintings.

I like em, do more, and post em, or else! :D
