I had the 1334 error on hl2.ico1, and I was quite pissed off...
One thing I did notice however, was when I ran the install program up to the bit where you select CS:S or not, it said CS:S would take something like... 350kb. I just noticed this, and was a bit confused. So, I selected "Do not install" on CS:S, then reselected "Install to hard drive", and it said it would need 900mb. I ran install, it worked fine.
Give it a try, see if thats what did the job or not :afro:
