Possible to play in Letterbox?

I have a 4:3 moniter, and like playing in the 16:9 resolution 1280x720, unfortuantly i have to play it in windowed mode so i see everything, and i was wondering, is there a way to play it in letterbox? because when i play it in windowed mode in 16:9 i have to see everything on my desktop which is pretty annoying...

i think that would look terrible in window mode even with 16:9 theres not much of a difference and fullscreen looks better

i am playing it in windowed mode cuz i like 16:9 and that wasn't my question if it looked terrible or not, i was just wondering if you could play in letterbox (supposing you know what it means)

Yeah you can... and btw, no one calls it letterbox

just incase nobody knows what i mean, i'm asking if you can play in widescreen mode, but then have the "black bars" at the bottom and top of the screen so i don't have to see my desktop...

Well, my nephew got it to work, but he didn't do anything strange and he got black bars at the bottom and the top...

Well, that's the thing : He just selected it in his video options and it switched. He didn't do anything special :/
Maybe it's a monitor thing :/
