Sure this had been done be4 but oh wel, post a pic of urself in this area near T spawn hold a hangun and list ur settings and video card.

Here is my image:
http://img2.exs.cx/img2/8426/yup4.jpg

Settings:

Texture detail low
Shadows on
model detail medium
antialiasing 6x
trilinear filtering.

EDIT: the point of this is to see how different settings affect appearance and how appearance differs among video cards.

You should really find a spot that shows upclose and far away in the same shot. That would be best. ;)

Uhh and what card do you have? What FPS did you get?

i had 43fps in that area and i have an sis 651 Onbaord video lol thats why im comparing to make a good choice on a video card.

Thing thats confusin me is i have antialias on full and it still looks wierd.

gfx card is only 50-60% of the equation, your cpu/memory is the rest.

How much do you have to spend?

uhm £200 but i only have a pci slot......

Specs:

3.6ghz intel pentium 4
120gb harddrive
1gig geil Ram dual channeled

buddy.. your card is crummy.. you are in DX7 mode... thats why is looks bad... you could use a new gxf card.. maybe ram and a processor if they are comparable to your gfx card... or you can just play on low settings and hope for the best.

theres not much difference how it looks on different video cards.
only performance is different.

Dude, why sacrifice the frames to run at 1280x1024 on that crappy 9000?

wow just wow. thanks for the comparisons guys, when i get home i'll see what mine looks like, i'm curious to know now, only running
amd athlon 2100+
128 gf4 ti 4200 se
512 mb ram (2700 ddr)
40 gig hdd

AA 6x is not on in that picture. I doubt your video card could support it either. I don't think any onboard video cards support it. Rest looks nice though.

did you even read what he wrote? why would he need a new processor and ram? what he really needs is a new motherboard and a video card. a pci graphics card wont do as much for you as an agp card would and you would in effect be wasting your money. get yourself a nice motherboard that supports your processor. whats that a socket 478? and a 9800pro or better. i think the x800 and the 6800gt are good buys. take everything in your computer out and swap the motherboard out and put everything back in. reinstall windows over and voila you're done. thats assuming you dont have some sort of proprietary crap case like some dell optipex or something with a small form factor motherboard. and im assuming thts what it is because you dont have an agp slot. no motherboard has ever been made without an agp slot since like 1999 unless it was a proprietary piece.

if you need any help feel free to pm me ill help you out.

Yep its a barebone case so ima kinda screwed with the whole new mobo thing.

I can't believe how realistic that weapon model looks. Absolutely amazing.

I've got an X800 PRO, looking forward to CS:S now.
