That happened to my brother when he went to a trip to Miami. It was a 900 dollar Sony camera too, . Police reports indicated that it happened a lot to rented cars, and my brother had a rented a car with his friend for his trip to Miami.

the rental car people follow you and when you leave they just use the key to open the door and steal your crap

I would guess that he is drawing over top of the image in Adobe Illustrator, but I could be wrong.
