if there's something you've made yourself or just a tab you really like and would recommend others to learn, post it here!

here's one i've made myself.. i'm a bit of a beginner on the guitar though. it sounds nice with a steel stringed acoustic :) like an intro of sorts

Hehe, I haven't bothered writing anything lately. I've just being focusing on technique and learning some tough riffs.
 
I don't really use tabs anymore, I try to play by ear (don't know that many chords yet)
 
I play by ear as well, but I have tabbed a lot of our new songs in GuitarPro, if anyone is interested.
 
Yea I'm not saying tab is bad, it's actually quite good, when I was first starting out it gave me an easy way to play my favorite songs. Then eventually you get used to the fretboard so much that you can start playing by ear. So don't get me wrong tab is great for beginners, I don't want to sound like I'm dissing TAB.
 
yeah i'm the same about piano, just that i'm very new at the guitar so i like learning things with tabs, it's fast and easy.

i used to have to learn notes and stuff with the piano but now i just play it by ear, usually have a good idea of what scale and key it is etc.

I only use the tabs for very complicated solos or if their is a very unique or distinctive chord that is being played, like a common chord with add-ons, quite hard to pick up by ear.

I usually alternate between playing it note-by-note, or playing it as chords of all the notes in each bar (still as 6 per bar).

I would have posted complete and correct bass tabs for No Doubt- Spiderwebs, but I can't get my head 'round writing it down. I've got this word document that I print out and write on with pen or whatever when I make tabs, but I can't get the numbers in the document without mucking everything up. So... sorry.
 
Well depends what you guys want. I could give you some metal riffs or some rhythm riffs or lead licks, so what do you want? I do all, heh.

hneaz i tried playing that with the key of C on the A string, it sounds cool.

sea i'm digging the sound of that one! 170 bpm, jesus :o it probably sounds alot different on the electric guitar but i did a more arpeggiating pattern with the notes and it sounds cool.

i really wish i had an electric guitar, i played a crappy squire one with a kustom amp in sound/light (stage stuff) tech class today, but i soo loved playing on it. doing stuff like palm muting and bending, just sounds great. :)

a little barre practice thing i did.. supposed to be played pretty fast, but sounds good with some rubato/pause or slowdown between the bars. it begins a little mellow but modulates to a more happy sound in the last bar.

yeah, i don't even have a pick, i have tried my friends picks but i dont really like using one for acoustic guitar. maybe i'll get more into it later on, it sounds pretty nice using one with a good electric!

Aha yeah Opeth was what instantly sprung to mind when I started writing it, have been listening to alot of Ghost Reveries lately, awesome album. Have some parts that I need to compile, could turn out to be a nice contrasting prog song if I get things in the right places.... we shall see :D

Cerpin, I can't comprehend how to play the single :laugh: But it looks like it'd be lots of fun to play. Could you upload a MIDI or an MP3 of the guitars?
 
Power chord and barre chords are going to be your best friends for any type of rock. they are quick to play and very efficient. i didn know u played the acoustic guitar. when i say drop C, its on the low E string but the tune is dropped to Drop C (CGCFAD). im glad u are having fun playing the guitar. always using a pick.
