I'd be tempted just to close this, however I'm sure it's been made with good intent.

Can everyone please make sure they have a very secure password (i.e. nothing obvious, combination of letters and numbers) before they post their Steam account name (if it's the same as their Steam nickname).

I get loads of automated e-mails every week from the Steam accounts system where people have been requesting my username/password details etc. via my account name. If I had an obvious password, I'm positive my account would have been stolen by now.

My Friends nickname (not my username ) is Chris_D.

Yes I thought of that exact thing when making this Chris. I had orignally entitled it just "Post your Steam account name!" but decided to add the "(for Friends)" part so no one would flip from reading just the title.

I know you wouldn't be harvesting the usernames for that reason, xombine and I did take note of the "for Friends " part, but a lot of people are silly with usernames and passwords and I just wanted those silly people to think twice before posting something that could lose their account

Good idea for a thread though. We should add each other and go for a big CSS game.

^ right click steam in the system tray, go to settings, and the tab named 'Account' should show your 'Account Name.' I'm pretty sure that's what you would use to find/add friends...
