Many of you UK'ers are probably getting replies back from your Uni's you've applied to, post any info you recieved back!

I got 2 replies today from Nottingham University and Leeds Uni. Leeds have given me a conditional offer (BBC) for Chemistry degree!! Nottingham have given me an interview on 23rd Feb, w00t! I'm waiting replies from Manchester (which I really want to go to), Liverpool, Newcastle and Huddersfield.

Anyone else get any replies yet? Post them.

I grew up in nottingham.

As anyone who has been there for any length of time will tell you..

It can be an extremely scary place, especially at night.

A friend who went to nottingham university once said to me "you wernt kidding, nottingham is a shithole!"
He mighta just said that because the night before he went to a bar that had bullet holes in the wall outside... and that he saw a bad fight between chavs and students the same night...

Not to put you off or anything.... but dont go if your not used to city life. Well I wouldnt recomend it anyway. It sometimes scares the shit outa me when i go back even now and I know where and where DEFINATLY not to go lol...

I'm at loughborough currently. Great place! :D

Ahhh, good old Cardiff, great city, great people, great life. I went to school at Llanishen High School. Best school ever. I also love "town" with its big alley and its funny casttle.

I got into 3 universities and my name is still listed on one's website.

Ive got 4 replies and still waiting for 2.

Sussex and Keele have given me places for Neuroscience.
Bristol's given me an interveiw for the same course.
UCL and Kings college have decieded to ignore me and every1 else for a while.
And Queen Mary gave me some random biology course.

I probably will want to go to University of Sussex :)

I went to Nottingham Uni, it was lots of fun, nice campus too.

I stand corrected :P

Twas a bitter post I made wasnt it... lol

Well there are some bad parts in Nottingham... the key thing is to know where they are, and avoid them. The student areas are fine though. :D

Apart from potential burglaries... which occur in most student areas in any Uni anyway.

Holy shit, Llanishen! That is literally a five minute walk away from me! And it is a poor school, full of chav's, only redeeming fact is that my girlfrien is there in lower sixth. How long were you there for?

It was a five minute walk from my house too, how cool, I used to live near a train bridge with a little tiny tunnel. I was there only a year. Do they still wear those blue uniforms ? Too bad to hear its full of chavs, when I was there there wasn't that "chav" stuff yet. So how is Cardiff now ? I'm probably going back in a few month to live and study. Are there a lot of chavs still ?

I take back what I said, a police woman got shot today, just across the road from where I was living last year.

Pshk, don't waste your time with University. The debt sucks. Plus, everyone has a Degree nowadays, even me!

Nah, the debt is practically non-existant, you only pay it back at a tiny percentage of your earnings so its not a problem.

The value of a degree nowadays is practically non-existent too. I have a cousin who's doing an accountancy apprentiship (or whatever they call it) and when she's done she'll be on a base salary of about 29 grand (more than me!)... so much for the value of a degree.

It all depends on the quality of the degree. A degree is far from worthless, and the University experience is worth every penny.

Don't bother with Swansea, there's not much going on there to spend 3 years there////

Ah well, Cardiff said no to the other courses i applied for there, and not enthusiastic about going to Swansea of all places D:

UWIC it is :D
