I'm getting the Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply for my computer (Athlon XP 3500+, ) and was wondering:

Is there a difference between ATX and ATX12V power supplies? Do they work with the same things (cases and other stuff)?

(I was planning on ordering all the stuff tonight, so a quick response would help a lot) Thanks!

Looking at the specs it seems pretty normal, from an ATX point of view.

From the Antec web site:
...24-pin power connector with detachable 4-pin section for backwards compatibility with ATX 20-pin motherboards.
"Bacwards compatibility", I guess ATX12V is just the name, rather than a different standard. I know I've never heard of a specific standard called ATX12V anyway.

Edit: Aha, from Toms Hardware
The PC world is going through a time of upheaval. With the advent of PCI Express, DDR2 memory and Serial ATA, many new components are arriving on the scene. Taking its place among them, almost unnoticed, is ATX12V 2.01, a new power supply standard destined to replace ATX 1.3.
Check out this page for the lowdown of the ATX12V 2.01 standard.

Awesome...just wanted to make sure it would fit in my case (which I already got). Thanks a bunch!
