Hi,

I recently bought a Powercolor 9800 Pro 128MB after owning a 9600XT and one of the major things that i noticed (Apart from the 9800 Pro kicking the **** out of the XT) is that the Pro heats up a hell of alot more then the XT - seriously, i touched the back of the card and it felt like something along the lines of 70 Degrees celcius or more! Of course, this is with the stock fan, but it's even pretty damn hot when it's not doing anything, so this is starting to worry me.

Now what im asking is: What can i do to cool it down? I already have 3 case fans, one blowing in exactly on the video card, one blowing in on the CPU and one blowing air out above the power supply. I saw a VGA Silencer Rev 3 down here in Australia going for $30 and was wondering if it was worth a try if any of you guy's out there have one.

Some advice would be really appreciated. :)

Thanks,

Adrian.

If its not impacting your performance I wouldn't worry too much, unless you know its not acting like its supposed to. That said I wouldn't really recommend a VGA cooler either, since countless people fry their videocards every year trying to install them. If its a major issue you may want to look into either some RAM heatsinks or maybe a blower that will fit into the PCI slot next to it.
