What pictures do you find moving/powerful?

I don't know why but this strikes a chord with me.

Nice thread idea :)

I've always thought this picture of a smoking room was very clever. Also infamous picture of the napalm girl running away is pretty powerful.

That smoking room is amazing.

wow

goatse or ******* anyone?

You counter-revolutionary, Solaris!

Wow...that was so...amazing. That the one word that comes to mind. It takes some one with a great love for their child to do something like this.

This is the child I adopted through a group called Compassion International.

the strokes??? the strokes?!!?!

its a cloud chamber displaying the movement of charged particles in a magnetic field anyway!

I think Kamikazi and Ravioli missed the point. Lets try to stay on the straight D:

That monk who set himself on fire is a very powerful picture, nice one. I think a monk more recently did the same stunt for global peace or something.

yep, the strokes :P why?

i made some research a few months ago about the particle physics and found cool similar images :D

Indeed, that picture is truly horrifying. Although you know how to push all the right buttons with me Kamakazi, considering I'm Jewish blood... D:

Amazing how much is out there...

Any war picture/video is pretty powerful too.

The photo is literally a split second before the execution.

Always struck me as synonymous with how most of us Russians are.

I think everyone, and I mean everyone would agree.

The photo was taken during a surgery performed by Dr. Joseph Bruner and Dr. Noel Tulipan at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville on August 19, 1999 to treat a 21-week-old fetus for spina bifida. The operation was a success, and three months later a healthy Samuel Alexander Armas was delivered by C-section.
The Photographer said:
Samuel came out from under anesthesia too soon and thrust his clenched fist out of the surgical opening to his mother's womb. In my opinion, Samuel was in pain. Dr. Joseph Bruner reached over and gently lifted Samuel's hand, and Samuel reacted by squeezing the doctor's finger.
