Tonight, Michele Bachmann became the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge created by THE FAMiLY LEADER, an influential social-conservative group in Iowa. By signing the pledge Bachmann “vows” to “uphold the institution of marriage as only between one man and one woman” by committing herself to 14 specifics steps. The ninth step calls for the banning of “all forms” of pornography. The pledge also states that homosexuality is both a choice and a health risk.

ya **** these religious retards

ATTENTION PASTORS: 167 "religious" leaders signed a letter delivered to the Iowa Legislature saying that people of faith support homosexual "marriage." Don't stay silent while others speak for you and misrepresnt God.

The Family Leader is the parent organization of Marriage Matters, the Iowa Family PAC, and the Iowa Family Policy Center, an organization that attacks “the public health crisis of same-sex activity” and tells church groups that they can “protect your children” from “homosexual activists.”

her husband is a piece of work as well:

on the topic of homosexuals:

BACHMANN: We have to understand: barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn’t mean that we are supposed to go down that road. That’s what is called the sinful nature. We have a responsibility as parents and as authority figures not to encourage such thoughts and feelings from moving into the action steps…

And let’s face it: what is our culture, what is our public education system doing today? They are giving full, wide-open doors to children, not only giving encouragement to think it but to encourage action steps. That’s why when we understand what truly is the percentage of homosexuals in this country, it is small. But by these open doors, I can see and we are experiencing, that it is starting to increase.

Does this really matter? This is just another bizarro-world Republican who will flare up in the news and then disappear once people all agree "yep, she's a mad bitch". I feel like we're getting this more and more often these days, and it's nice that most people just go "wow, crazy". Also hi BadHat Poe's Law etc

The pledge also states that homosexuality is both a choice and a health risk.

Is homosexual sex actually all that much riskier than heterosexual sex?

ya people might like to keep up with the viewpoints of a future presidential candidate, former state senator and current member of congress

In office, Bachmann's agenda focused on the cultural conservative issues of opposition to abortion and gay marriage.

the underlying implication is that gays are immoral and engage in promiscuous sex with multiple partners as part of the lifestyle

She only has to beat Romney and Obama, both have major weaknesses. America is ****ed.

No I definitely understand that. I'm just curious as to the actual numbers. I mean, isn't genital herpes alone up to like 20% of the population now?

Overall, homosexual men were significantly (p < 0.001) more likely than heterosexual men to have gonorrhea (30.31% vs. 19.83 %), early syphilis (1.08% vs. 0.34%) and anal warts (2.90% vs. 0.26%) but less likely to have nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) (14.63% vs. 36.40%, p < 0.001), herpes genitalis (0.93% vs. 3.65%, p < 0.001), pediculosis pubis (4.30% vs. 5.35%, p < 0.005), scabies (0.42% vs. 0.76%, p < 0.02), and genital warts (1.68% vs. 6.69%, p < 0.001).

100% of gays go to hell too, which I assume is a more dangerous place than heaven.

Hey let's try a fun thing:

ATTENTION PASTORS: 167 "religious" leaders signed a letter delivered to the Iowa Legislature saying that people of faith support mixed fabric "clothes." Don't stay silent while others speak for you and misrepresnt God.

Yep, pure crazy, any way you slice it.

I love the way conservatives hijack religion by putting it in quotes like that when progressives try to tout their own version of Christianity. This is what I mean when I say that no one practices "true" religion - because there's always someone with a different interpretation claiming the exact same thing, and they're just as unwilling to budge as you are.

Also, observe the lack of irony:

Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn’t mean that we are supposed to go down that road. That’s what is called the sinful nature.

Hey if porn is illegal then downloading it will make you cooler!
