Problem at the Loading Screen

I was running HL2 yesterday night just fine, got the game on release and it's been running like a charm. Today, when I try to play the game, instead of loading it shows a black screen. I sit there and nothing happens. I have no idea what to do, how can I solve this problem?

delete the folder with ur user name in steamapps.

Oh yes: If nothing helps, try to disable the 3d menue and see if you can work with your settings to get everything working again.
That helped me when I had some probs earlier today.

In case you didn't see how thats done yet:

Go into your Steamapps folder, open the folder that is your user name, then hl2, then cfg, then open the valve.rc file with notepad and add "//" to the beginning of the last line that says "startupmenu". This will disable the 3d menu thing at the beginning and thus you can start HL2 faster.
